I stopped waiting
for the system to catch up.
The gap nobody talks about
Every morning for three years, I woke up feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. Not dramatically — not in a way that would send most people to the ER. Just the low-grade exhaustion that makes you wonder if you're actually tired or if this is just what getting older feels like.
Joints ached. Gut was consistently off. I'd eat a meal and feel worse, not better. I went to four different doctors over two years. I was told it was stress. I was told it was my diet. I was told it was just how my body worked.
One doctor suggested an antidepressant. Another told me to try yoga. I tried yoga.
What nobody told me
Chronic inflammation was driving all of it. Not "stress." Not "getting older." A combination of gut permeability, poor sleep, and a testosterone decline that started in my mid-30s.
I know this because I tested for it. DUTCH test. Full GI panel. Comprehensive metabolic panel with fasting insulin. What I found changed how I approached everything.
- Fasting insulin: 14 (Optimal is below 8)
- hs-CRP: 3.2 (Optimal is below 1.0)
- Free testosterone: bottom of the reference range
The system had no answers for this. The system told me I was fine because I wasn't sick enough to treat.
The discovery
Peptides found me through a friend who worked at a compound pharmacy. He mentioned BPC-157 in passing — "it's been shown to repair gut lining." I went home and spent six hours reading research.
Within eight weeks of starting a protocol: fasting insulin dropped to 9. hs-CRP dropped to 1.4. Energy came back. Not overnight. Not dramatically. Measurably, consistently, in ways my labs confirmed.
The pivot
I'm not a doctor. I'm not a biochemist. I'm a guy who got tired of being told to accept feeling mediocre and went looking for the receipts.
What I found was a space where evidence existed but wasn't being taught. Where providers knew more than the system allowed them to share. Where the gap between what research showed and what patients were told was enormous — and growing.
I started talking about it. At dinners. On calls. To anyone who asked. I quickly learned: I wasn't the only person who had been told they'd "just have to live with it." I was surrounded by people who'd been told the same thing — by their doctors, their specialists, their NPs — who had also quietly gone looking for answers.
And on every call, the same question: "Can I actually build something with this?"
Why Dose of Proof
This newsletter exists because I stopped waiting for the system to catch up.
Dose of Proof is for the people who already know more about peptides than their doctors. Who are tired of being the most knowledgeable person in the room with nowhere to send people. Who want to build something — a business, a content platform, an affiliate revenue stream — instead of just accumulating knowledge.
Every week: one specific thing the research actually shows, what to do with it, and how other people are building with it.
No vague claims. No supplement push. No "this one weird trick" energy.
Just the receipts, and what you can build with them.
If that sounds like you
